Gwanak Residence Halls

Living at the Gwanak Residence Halls offers a wide range of advantages. Located right next to the rear gate of the SNU Gwanak Campus, it is the closest dormitory to key on-campus facilities. It is also highly affordable and cost-effective compared to off-campus housing options. Capacity & Eligibility

The Gwanak Residence Halls consist of 27 buildings in total, accommodating approximately 6,200 students. It serves as a communal living space for SNU students from all over the country, offering an environment where you can focus on your academic pursuits, relax comfortably, and meet peers from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply, provided they satisfy the specific requirements below. Applicants must be either currently enrolled students or incoming newly admitted students.

Family Residence Halls
Married international graduate students and full-time research scholars enrolled at Seoul National University are eligible to apply for the Family Residence Halls (39 rooms in total). The facility is located between the Hoam Faculty House and the Research & Development Business (R&DB) Center.

Eligibility & Documents
  • Eligibility: Married graduate students and research scholars (Domestic and International)
  • Required Documents:
    • Application for Residence
    • Certificate of Family Relations (or Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate)
    • 1 copy of the passport for both the applicant and each family member

BK Residence Halls

BK Residence Halls provide accommodation for international graduate students, researchers, and faculty members near the rear gate of the Gwanak Campus.

International graduate students may apply for Building 946B (Studio Type) only if they are married.

Application Notes
  • All applicants are placed on a waiting list.
  • Priority is given to international faculty members and researchers before other applicants.
