AUF : Asian Universities Forum
Founded in 2011 by SNU, the Asian Universities Forum (AUF) serves as a platform for leading universities across Asia to strengthen partnerships and address shared challenges facing higher education and society. Bringing together 25 member universities from 15 countries, AUF promotes dialogue and collaboration among university leaders and experts through its annual forums, which have been held continuously since the inaugural meeting in Seoul in 2011. Discussions focus on topics such as educational innovation, research collaboration, sustainability, and regional development. As the founding institution and Secretariat of AUF, SNU supports the network’s activities and facilitates meaningful cooperation among member institutions to advance higher education and contribute to the future development of Asia.
APRU : ASSOCIATION OF PACIFIC RIM UNIVERSITIES
The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) is a consortium of 60 leading research universities in the Pacific Rim. Established in 1997, the consortium aims to foster cooperation in education, research and enterprise, thereby contributing to the economic, scientific and cultural advancement of the Pacific Rim. Seoul National University is a founding member of APRU. In addition, our president is a member of the Steering Committee of APRU, which provides leadership and guidance for the association.
AUA : ASIAN UNIVERSITIES ALLIANCE
The Asian Universities Alliance is jointly established by 15 representative universities in Asia in response to the developing trend of higher education in Asia. The mission of AUA is to jointly address regional and global challenges, specifically related to higher education and economic, scientific and technological development, by strengthening collaboration among member institutions. AUA acknowledges and promotes shared identity and values in working towards this mission.

SNU-HU
The Seoul National University-Hokkaido University Joint Symposium is an annual academic forum established in 1998 to promote research collaboration and scholarly exchange between the two universities. Held alternately by SNU and HU, the symposium brings together faculty members, researchers, and students to discuss current academic and societal issues through plenary programs and discipline-specific breakout sessions. Over the years, it has served as an important platform for fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two institutions.
SNU-KU
The Joint Symposium between Seoul National University and Kyushu University was officially launched in 2021 with the purpose of facilitating cooperation and exchange in academic and research between the two universities. The Symposium is held annually to focus on the current issues. Satellite sessions are provided concurrently in order to extend the opportunities to various fields of studies.
