[Who we are]
We are an official organization under the Office of Global Affairs (OGA) at Seoul National University (SNU). We are comprised of enthusiastic Korean students currently studying at SNU, all with great interest in different cultures, from a variety of majors. All of them have went through a competitive application process and volunteered to help you (exchange and incoming students) settle in SNU! We will be hosting several exciting events, ranging from Food Festival, Amazing Race, Temple Stay, Superstar SNU and many more.
[How it works]
You will be matched to a personal buddy, who will help you get accustomed to Korea and school life. However, to be matched, you first have to sign up for the matching process! Since there are limited number of Korean buddies, they can only be matched to a limited number of exchange students, so it is highly encouraged that you start signing up to the SNU Buddy program today! When you choose a personal buddy, you will also become a member of that buddy’s group (this group will comprise 40-50 people of both exchange students and Korean buddies). You can pick one Korean buddy to be your personal buddy. After choosing a buddy, you can change your choice within 48 hours. After 48 hours, matching will be finalized, and you will soon receive an email from the personal buddy that you have chosen.
From today, February 4th (GMT+9), until February 15th (GMT+9), we will take the Waiver form submissions and payments for SNU Buddy. On February 15th (GMT+9) we will review and process the payments. This means that you should not be worried about not being able to access the matching page until February 15th (GMT+9). On our website, http://www.snubuddyprogram.com/ make sure to read the instructions about how to use the matching page on ‘How to Match’. The actual Matching begins on February 18th (GMT+9)! Buddy Matching happens on a first come, first served basis so make sure to be quick. When you register on the matching site, you must provide the exact same information you provided to the OGA as an exchange student.
Once again, Buddy matching happens on a first come, first served basis, so please complete your sign-up within the given timeline!
(For buddies who are doing SNU buddy for the second time or more: Matching is possible from February 19th. This is to give the new buddies priority in choosing their buddy.).
🚨 If you can’t access the matching page even after February 15th, read below.
On February 15th (GMT+9), we will take inquiries about not being able to access the matching page. Before you inquire, make sure to double-check that you have submitted the waiver form and have paid the membership fee.
🚨 If you submit your payment after February 15th, read below
We will review the new payments and application requests in every 3 days onwards (16th, 19th, 22nd). Therefore, you should not be worried if you cannot access the matching page immediately.

✅ 2. Pay the membership fee 70,000 KRW (Korean Won). (Make sure to use the EXACT SAME NAME for all three steps!!)
✅ 3. Sign up & Register on the SNU Buddy website (http://www.snubuddyprogram.com/) with the same email address, and the same name used with the OGA.

- You must submit the reference/sender information in the following format (Last Name_First Name)
- Please note that the names on the matching site, waiver form, and reference/sender information of payment must be identical.
- Any failure to comply with the notified instructions can result ineligibility for participation in the SNU Buddy program. Refunds are also not possible.
- SNU Buddy is not responsible for the applicant’s failure to follow the given instructions.
- All buddies, returning and new, must fill in an application on the matching site. Failure to do so will result in failure to join SNU Buddy.
*SNU Buddy is using both Gmail/Naver account, so accounts of original mail and reply mail may be different.
