Priority Enrollment Period: February 2, 2026 - February 16, 2026.
Students from affiliate universities and organizations are eligible to apply and enroll during the priority enrollment period. Enrollment won’t open to the general public until two weeks later, on February 17. We encourage affiliate students to take advantage of this special priority enrollment period since classes fill on a first come, first served basis. The Registration Guide (below) provides instructions on how to apply during the priority enrollment period.

Application: Identity Verification Step
There is one change to the application submission process this year. For added security, applicants will need to verify their identity before submitting the application. To complete the verification, they will need to use their smart phone or laptop to submit a photo of the biographical page of their passport and a photo of their face. The application will clearly guide them through this process, and for any questions they can reach out to us at summer@berkeley.edu. You may also refer to our Help Center article for further information. As a reminder, applicants must complete and submit their own applications and pay the $25 application fee.
Classes
Summer 2026 courses have been published in the Berkeley Academic Guide at classes.berkeley.edu.
NEW: The Berkeley Course Catalog is now also available on our Chinese website under the Summer Courses tab.
Visiting students are eligible to enroll directly in any course with space available as long as they meet any pre-requisite requirements and there are no enrollment restrictions. Students may check for prerequisites in the Course Catalog.
A select few courses may have the notation “consent of department is required for enrollment.” In this case, the student will need to contact the academic department for permission to enroll. Contact information for the department is listed on their website.
Fees & Deadlines
The Summer Sessions 2026 application & enrollment deadlines, and fees can be found on the summer website.
We’re excited to share that the UC Berkeley Summer Sessions website has been updated to be easier to navigate and more accessible. All URLs remain active, so any existing links you currently use should continue to work.
Please direct your students to the Visiting International Students page on the website for information about attending Summer Sessions as an international student.
Tuition and Fees Estimator
There is a new tool on our website to calculate the total cost of summer tuition and fees based on student type and the number of course units. Please note that the estimate does not include housing, meals, airfare, health insurance, or other costs.
